Dean & DeLuca presents CHEESE
In 1973, Giorgio DeLuca opened his first space on Prince Street in SoHo named THE CHEESE STORE.
CHEESE, as many called it, was an exercise in restraint and a bold experiment in food merchandising. Giorgio saw his product as a curated collection, a distillation of the very best. This vision was further refined with the partnership of Joel Dean and Jack Ceglic. Columns, painted in different shades of white by Jack, along with marble tiled floors, stainless steel, and an expansive sense of space would become the architectural hallmarks of Dean & DeLuca's iconic store.
Inspired by the history of Dean & DeLuca, designers Adam Charlap Hyman and Andre Herrero have created an homage to the early days of this avant-garde food retail experience and the brand’s design origins.
